Located just opposite the Maritime Museum Phase Two, along Jalan Quayside, the Royal Malaysian Navy Museum acts as an archive of the Royal Malaysia Navy Force and was opened to public in 1995. The original Royal Malaysian Navy Museum was located in Lumut. Portraits of various Commanding Officers, service medals, badges of rank, weapons, uniforms, communication equipment and flags used at sea are displayed here.
One of the interesting exhibits is the decommissioned patrol boat, K.D. Sri Terengganu. In 1994, it was agreed that K.D. Sri Terengganu to be contributed by the Ministry of Defense and the Royal Navy Force to complement the Royal Malaysian Navy Museum for more public appreciation.
K.D. Sri Terengganu was in service for approximately 31 years, sailing some 68,926 nautical miles under 24 different Commanding Officers, before it was retired from active service and shipped to Melaka in 1996. K.D. Sri Terengganu was involved in the peacekeeping exercise during the Indonesia Confrontation era and was duly employed in the patrolling of the East Cost of Peninsular Malaysia.
